In the first week of January, we were delighted to have a young Braillist called Theo Johnson spend the afternoon with us to trial the Console at our workshop in Bristol and took the Console home with him.Β
Theo is a young, 15-year-old Braillist that lives in Cambridge with his parents a has a passion for computer programming. He is keen to use the Console to improve his programming skills, help with school work and play games as well as make some of his own!Β Theo and his family have been following the progress of the Canute and Cabute Console very closely for a number of years and it was a great opportunity to be able to give him a tour of the workshop and introduce him to our exciting new bit of tech!
Below are some photos of Theo navigating around Bristol in our Braille City Explorer game.
This was made possible by an anonymous benefactor who is funding a particular trial, watch this space for more info and updates about this!Β
We would love to get in touch with any other young Braillists out there who might want to try the Console and tell us what they would want to do with it. Would it help with schoolwork? Do you want to explore more computer gaming options? Would it help you navigate the internet better? We want to know! Drop us an email via charlie.harding@bristolbraille.org to register your interest.
We will be sending more information over the coming months outlining more tour dates and information about the Canute Console, head to our Canute Console tour page for the latest info or sign up for our newsletter .
